VisualcontainerTv is glad to present a particular visual art poetry project, Zona|Disforme, by the Italian artists Carlotta Cicci and Stefano Massari, who are based in Bologna.
The poetry format involves contemporary poets performing their pieces while the duo conducts sound and visual research. They explore the potential of language using visual art and sound. The mix created by this collaboration immerses the audience in an intense journey through poetic scenarios.

zona|disforme is the project for a video format of poetry, visual art and sound art, which explores the possible connections between moving images, generative sound and the practice of poetic words (ours and others).
We attempt to converge the numerous instances, modalities and experiences that involve us humanly and artistically in a territory where our creative discourse/dialogue acts in continuous transformation.
We practice listening to the gaze, a kind of contemplation before any thought or meaning, at the point where sound can become a sign and then meaning—an assiduous unhingement and dismemberment of the visible.
We look for matrices, thresholds, and connections invisible to a surface approach through all the materials we produce or handle. We are not guided by the intention to express or represent meanings; we are guided by the desire to bear them, dig them up and start hearing them resonate again.
We obsessively seek the point where the essence and event of things momentarily coincide and, therefore, resonate, attempting to bring everything back to its first syllable, thus opening up to an endless possibility of other consequences and meanings.
We respond to the desire to activate and nourish a dialogue about the world, time and life in our way. A gesture of crossing and restitution that attempts to open and nourish gaps.
We reject boundaries, definitions, captions, categories, predetermined intentions, scripts, and representations.
We summon, involve, generate, practice synchronicity, and begin to know again.
Zona | Disforme has the task of giving back and sharing this, hopefully long, experience.
